Homeowner Growing & Maintenance Tips
Plant in a sunny location after the threat of frost has passed. Best in organic-rich, well-drained soil. Keep soil moist, watering freely in dry weather.
Usage/Other Information
Can be eaten fresh off the vine or used in salads and cooking. Excellent for flavoring a variety of dishes. Preserve by canning, drying, or freezing.
Heirloom tomatoes have far more flavor than the traditional hybrid tomatoes available at most stores. Heirlooms are nonhybrid, so they reproduce perfectly from seeds (unlike hybrids). In fact, these tomatoes are called "heirloom" or "heritage" tomatoes because the seeds have been passed down for generations.
